I just purchased a pair of Mariner 300's with 25" midsections for my Powerplay 28'. Where do you think I should begin with prop selection? The lower units are fleetmasters. Thanks.

This is a loaded question. Without seeing the exact set up and taking measurements it is hard to determine the pitch you will need. Additionally,
test props for outboards are very difficult to find. We will need some baseline numbers to get started. Do you have any props with the boat or laying around that you can try to begin baselining?

We have some old three blade chopper props that were previously on the boat with the 2.5's, but I dont think they will be anywhere near what we want.

There are options depending on the desired results. What pitch are the choppers? They most likely will be too small since the power bands are at such different rpm ranges between the engines. The 300's typically ran large pitch with a 6420 rpm limiter while the 2.5's run small pitch to run mid 7's.
Let us know how it goes. We may have something for you to try.

The rev limiter on these motors is 6200. Our mechanic says we should try 14 1/2x32s. Anyone have anything like this to try? Thanks for the help.
