Ford 6.0 Diesel Performance Chips
#1
I just purchased new F350 6.0 Diesel, 4x4 with SRW. Going to pull Donzi 38ZR.
Anyone used any of the aftermarket chips like hypertech on their trucks. Are their performance gains really what they say?

If it means anything....
I deal with a distributor of parts and they deal in a huge volume of aftermarket stuff. I asked him about which one they preferred for the 6.0. he told me that far and awat the Edge/Juice was their largest volume seller. He added that he was surprised to find that as the Edge was also the most expensive. They carry all of them including Banks.

I have had the Edge, Bullydog and, Hypertech on the Dyno and the Bullydog has the most HP and torque. The Duramax has the most Horsepower but it is a little peaky. The Ford 6.0L has the broadest power-band, that is why I like it best for towing.
Besides best power the Bullydog has portability. You buy the bullydog kit it has all three programs in it so if you trade your GM in on a Ford you just unload the GM program then you can load the ford program onto a ford truck.

I have the BANKS programer and 4" exhaust on my 05 F-350. What a difference, this truck pulls anything! I want to get a shift kit for the tranny next. I got all my stuff from

Programmers vs chips...Don't programmers allow you to remove all evidence of having them vs chips which leave a trace of data on the trucks hard drive?
Also, I think some programmers address the tranny by upping the "line pressure" to keep internals protected. But I don't know which ones do this.
Advise me if I am all wrong on this

My tranny on the 6.0l has some slips already, and Yes, do not tow in any higher than the 65hp setting. The heads only have 6 bolts when it should have 8-10 like Chev & Dodge. You also may blow turbo hoses.
