So if I'm reading this correctly, (forgive me I have the flu right now and I'm not quite with it ) you are saying that the new 2006 6.0 PS is blowing head gaskets without any mods?
I'm really interested in this data, because I'm getting ready to buy a new F-350 or an Dodge 3500 IF the Fords are having this problem! I have til the end of the year to buy, but I want to get it lined up now and order my truck, (Ford or Dodge) ASAP.
Thanks,
Dean

Anyone used any of the aftermarket chips like hypertech on their trucks. Are their performance gains really what they say?
Yes sir. It's night and day. Be very careful with just any programmer though. Alot of them will cost you your head gaskets. Alot of the guys in http://www.thedieselgarage.com have a proven combo for that setup which is SCT, exhaust and an intake filter. That alone will make that truck scream. I have personally dealt with and recommend http://www.dj-performance.com. This guy KNOWS his 6.0L's...

Enjoy...

The Cummins is a great motor but if I am not mistaken that truck still has a 4spd auto. Also, the interior of that truck looks like it was built by Fisher Price ...

I have yet to hear about stock 6.0Ls puking and or blowing the head gaskets. That little 6.0 is making 325 HP and 560lbs or torque. An SCT, Exhaust and intake will put you in the 400s, and 600+lbs of torque. You have the option to change programs from Towing, to Street to Race.

DJ Performance pulls a '36 Pace Trailer, fully loaded with his F-250 race truck in it, tool's, ect... with a 2005 F-350 6.0L Dually. 37k, not one problem yet.

My 04 6.0 was a problem child.. Ford owns that truck now

My 06 6.0 is night and day.. (F350 CC SRW) Runs great, idles perfectly, fair economy (nothing I ever drive gets good economy, not sure why ) and has pulled 18k with no issues. I regularly pull 8-9k behind it, and constantly have 3-4k behind it. The tow command is awesome (trailers with electric brakes) and the tow mode in the tranny is real handy on anything above 6.5k...

I have the Bullydog 3 stage in my 03. It has performed flawlessly!! I leave it in the highest setting. The trans has to re-learn shifting with each time you change power setting. I towed my 31 Sonic no problem.

A word of caution.....A performance chip is not license to drive like an a-hole!!! If you push too hard when towing something is bound to let loose!!! Your trans is like your outdrive......would you run full throttle off idle after installing a blower???? I don't think so!
