props tarnished/key west water?

Spent 5 days in key west,boat stayed in the water like everyone else's.The props and anything stainless have a gray tarnish on them.I m thinking salt deposits?Anyone know how to clean it off/

"Hammerhead" makes an excellent product for use on stainless or aluminum. Even works well on stubborn stains on your fiberglass hull. (but you will have to re-wax) --- Jer

This is very common for Key West. There are a couple different ways to remove the white coating.
The quickest way is to use muriatic acid, just pour it on and rinse if off. You can also use some of those house cleaners like CLR but they work slowly.

THANK YOU,bought a product named salt away $12.00 a bottle maybe I will spray on and see what happens?How about on off bottom cleaner/It is an acid but not muric.
