Default Leaking cylinders or trim pump.

I can't find the thread that explains this scenario but I know I read it somewhere.
I raised my drive all the way up, marked the fluid level of the trim reservoir, let it sit overnight. The drive bled down as usual and when I checked the fluid level, it did not appear to have moved.

Does this indicate bad cylinders or trim pump (check valve???)?

Thanks,

O.k. I took the big hex cap off of both sides of the trim pump and one of them was missing a spring to hold the check valve down. By the Mercury parts diagram these springs are not available separately. I also checked ebasicpower.com for aftermarket and could not find it. Are they available or do you have to hunt for used parts?
