Default Bravo HP low water pickup

I have a set of bravo HP's with low water pick ups. They have IMCO shafts. After getting water in one of them 2 years in a row we found the lower case was slightly cracked.

Is this common with the low water pickup?

I have several lowers but all high water pick up style. Should I chage both to high pick ups ( I have a 32 baja no steps).

Does anyone have just a LWP housing?

I do not think the low water is more subject to cracks, I tried switching to high water and had heating problems with the engines. It all depends on how high the drives are mounted.

I think I would stay with the lows unless you find out more issues with them.
