2000 was the first year of the twin step and fountain had some problems with the X dimension and the ability for the boat to come out of the hole. In 2001 they fixed the X dimension and no problems. I own a 2001 35' Fountain and do not have any problem with the new set up. I would not buy a 2000 if I were looking. Not much difference in price to set up 1 year.

Thanks guy's I would have thought that the 00 would of been a higher X dimension because I read somewhere that some of the oo had a problem coming on plane and some boats where sent back and fountain installed a spacer to lower the drive, I also thought that 01 went to merc., props because of merc'c involvment with fountain. I am know worried is buying a 00 because you can always lower your drives with spacers but to raise alot more trouble and expense. So from what I am reading the merc prop likes a higher x than a hydro. If this is the case an oo would be okay with a hydro with the lower x dimensuion?
