corrosion in exhaust
#1
has anyone ever had a problem with corrosion in their heades from slat water running? we have three sets of cmi headers for bbc, and we sent one off to cmi because it had a crack in it, and they claimed that is had corrosion in the header or something like that because of salt water, is it possible to "clean" it out? can you run them like that? we dont really want to spend 8 grand for new exhaust
thanks

have seen it many many times, you can flush them with saltx or simmilar product would also recomend press testing them to be shure of no leaks, and would recomend flushing the mtrs after each use

we dont run in salt ever, its just that we bought the boat as a project that had sunk and hadn't ran in over a year, so are not sure at all of its history. since all the headers are off the boat, you mean we could clean them with saltx and that would clean them out so they would be useable? thanks

the pastowner of the boat claimed these were cmis.....just want to make sure if they are, because, they dont look like any new cmi model...they almost look more like a hardin marine type..
