Does anyone know of any aftermarket long risers that will fit stock (center rise) manifolds? I have seen some but they are too rich for my blood.
Thanks

Imco makes a riser that fits stock Merc manifolds. I dont know how long they are. I would suggest you not waste your money with upgrades to Merc manifolds. Wait until you can get a good aftermarket manifold and riser set-up.

I'm a little nervous about reversion. Ill be running a Crane 284H (single pattern 228@ .050, .512 lift w/1.6 rockers, 112 lsa) in a 383. I can have some custom ones made where I work, but I am lazy.

I'd say you've already read the best advice.
Don't wast money on risers alone, spend a little more and get good performance exhaust and matching risers.
Such as these aor just under $1k per motor...

I've installed these on a number of boats with great results, plus they look great!
Or, depending on how much cam, you may want to go with CMI e-top lites

After ingesting salt water in my fresh water cooled SBC due to not enough static line, I got the IMCO's with the 6" rise. I am running a big Comp Cams hydraulic roller and have had no problems with reversion. I bought mine through Teague's and they discounted them a little. I had them weld in bungs so I could drain them to prevent freezing and they were still under $1000.

I like the Revolution marine exhaust as well. Another option is a set of used Gils. They can usually be bought for around $500 with risers. Just make sure you presure test them. That's what I did. I stripped and repowdercoated them. at the end of the first season I had one develop an internal leak. I was able to repare it. Everything considered, you might be as well off with the Revolutions.
