I am looking at a F150 with the 4.6 Liter Fuel Injected Triton V8. Looking to here from someone that tows a boat with one. I hate to get rid of my F250 with the 5.8 V8. It has problems once in a while on hills. I would hate to loose any more power.

I have the 5.4 L in my 01 f-150 and it tows my 288 just fine, I get a head of steam for hills and try to preserve the tranny as much as possible. I borrowed my uncles 05 F-150 w/ 4.6 and the new boxed frame and front suspension is a whole lot better. the 4.6 did the job but struggled a bit more on the hills than my 5.4... He wants me to buy it from him, had it been the 5.4 I would have seriously considered the up-grade, for the frame and suspension... I am not 100% sure on the gear ratio I would assume it's either 3.5 or 3.7 I wouldn't pull more than about 6-7k w/ 4.6 unless you went w/ 4.1 gears...

I recently looked at an F-150 with the 4.6L. Nice truck, but I didn't buy it because of that motor. Too small as far as I am concerned. If it had had the 5.4L, I might have gotten it. Instead, I opted for an F-250 with a V-10.

Currently a Pachanga 22. As almost everyone always looking for something bigger and faster
I am more concerned about long hills. Not steep just long.
Or even getting on the interestate, I like to merge at 75MPH

I would think the 4.6 would be fine,I towed my 25' Outlaw with my 4.6 and it did okay, the Pachanga probably weighs about 1000lbs less you should be fine.
