Im just curious to see if there is anyone with a sunsation that has a 525, im thinking that might be my next boat, just wanted to see if anyone on here has one? thoughts, opinions?

dont know anyone that has one, but i know its a great setup..another option you should consider is the 625 ilmor, there have been a few of those out there, and havent heard anything but good things about that combo.....you should ask over in the sunsation forum, im sure you would get a lot more answers from people that actualy own those boats....good luck!

288 w/ Ilmore

I drove a 2004 288 mid-cabin w/ a HP500. With 5 of us in the boat it ran ~72mph on the gps speedo. It had great holeshot and awesome acceleration. Was a wonderful set up.

I was shopping for a 288 with 525( you should consider the 496 HO too lot of extra money to go faster later(headers, Charger, ect.). The 05 hull is faster then the 04 (new design) The newer hull should run 80(525). Awesome boat by the way. I ended up getting a 32 SS and love it. My tuffest decision was wether to get the open bow or not. By the way Sunsation has been awesome call joe over at the factory he will be happy to answer any question you have they have a great product and thier costumer support is the best in the biz.

My friend has a 2000 288 with a 454 Mag/whipple. I think that gives him approx. 575HP, top end is 78.

I have a 2005 288 MCOB with the 525efi/XR package. Love it!

What's your top end and what prop are you using?

I was only at 17hrs at the end of the season, bought in October, so I haven't hung on full throttle for a real long run yet. I was able to get 77 GPS with 1/3 gas and 2 people on board in pretty calm lake conditions. I was told the 525efi ECM run's a rich air/fuel ratio until 30 hours. I expect with a bit of chop and full break-in 79~80 should be possible.
