Default what do i clean a calcium buildup on the bottom of my boat with?

I think i have a calcium or mineral deposit on my boat. I had an a/c pickup that was cavatating on the bottom of my boat, and there are calcium deposits, like you get on a prop, directly behind it. whats the best way to remove it. I was talking with the fiberglass guy, and he says lime a way, but you have to hoist it in the air or it will stain your trailer. anything else easy and simple??

We use "Iron Off" it is a powder you mix in water in a 2 gallon pump sprayer when we take boat out of water we spray it on the boat and no brush or anything but a hose to spay off scum you can watch it run off grim when sprayed on boat.It is cheap we found it at Home Depot in the pluming section you can try it? if not try lime away and keep the Iron Off for cleaning boat when pulled out of water you will be shocked how good it works.DON'T USE ON OFF! it is really caustic and smokes when sprayed on boat and will kill grass when it hits it and will damage tour trailer(I know!)
good luck! Chuck.....................

I would get in the water in a shallow area and use a brush soaked with "The old Zing" . It will stay around the boat and on the brush for a while until it's dissapates and is dissolved. Be careful with acid around the drives. If any aluminum is bare it will really eat it, and accellerate corrosion like a bat out of hell ! BBB
