Default 3A Drive Review's

I have a 43 Black Thunder with 3A's. Is there anyone in West Michigan or relatively close who could check them out or do I have to remove them and send them somewhere for review? The conversion was originally done at Dollar in approximately 2003.

Rat, call WESCO at 616-662-2250 and ask Dave where he recommends sending the big Merc # drives. I'm pretty sure he sends them down to TNT. He knows the guys down there and trusts how they do those drives. The only thing is, is that you will have to build a crate to ship them in when sending them down there.

No one in west Michigan is proficient with the Speedmasters. There is a shop in Ohio that can handle them but I decided to use Mel Riggs Marine just outside FonduLac Wisconsin to rebuild one of mine.
What do you need looked at?
I'm in Holland and maybe can give you a hand.

How many hour since Dollar did them? Matt at TNT is awsome, also Gallen at Speedmaster INC in fl would be a good guy to use. Steve

Not sure on the hours or condition. Was kind of hoping to find someone who knew enough about them to review them on the boat. If I have to take them off, probably would send them down to Florida. Is there anything to check on the boat to see if there is a potential problem? End play, rotation slop, etc.? They are going to be a lot harder to take off than the TRS's on the Scorpion or the Bravo on the Empress. Heavy!!! Mr Gadgets did not know of anyone around here either.

Mel Riggs is a heck of a lot closer than Florida. I liked dealing with him when I needed one rebuilt and I took both drives to him for service and inspection the following year. Mel Riggs' number is 920-872-2728. It's worth a phone call.
I use a cherry picker to pull my 3A drives off. Let me know if you need a hand with yours.
