What and where did you get your homemade parts from for the kit?

I'm thinking about doing this since by the end of the summer the boat will be on a lift and this will make it easy to flush the 496HO's without using ear muffs.

well i would not make one when you can buy one. perko makes one, "Flushpro" valve. just cut out five inches of your inlet hose and place the valve in were you just cut out . flush and winterize no problem.
i think they make a few sizes?

Seen a few homemade kits here on the board for half the price and very simple durable parts from the local do it yourself hardware store. Perko is pretty proud of their metal. Mainly I was interested in not only homemade kits, but also some insight on how 32 Sun owners on here got in to the intake line especially for the port side. Not a lot of room to navigate in these puppies.

As stated before, I think the Perko one is not the best solution. If you have the boat on a lift, you don't need nor to you want a back flow check valve. This will make it impossible to flush from the insertion point back; including the drives.

Rick, make sure you come aboard this weekend and take a look at my setup. Hardest part is removing the raw water hose from the trasom assembly input discharge. My port one came off easier than the SB side. It took a heat gun, WD-40, and 11 scraped knuckles to get it off.

Brian I'd like to do that. The lift should be completed sometime in July and the flush kit will be a necessity. Taking the hose off completely and putting it back on might be just a tad difficult on these puppies.
