Default 502 in my 96' 22 Scarab

Well gents... I got my 502!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEDW%3AIT&rd=1

It looks great! Gonna install it next weekend! This will deffanitly wake it up... I was already turning a Mirage 26P and hitting 60MPH... looking forward to seeing what the addition of Lenco Race tabs and the 502 do to her.

I may be back soon with lots of questions!!!

I am guessing the hp on the new 502 is 415hp if so that should put you in the 74+ mph range with right prop.

It will be a fun ride. I put a 454 EFI in my old 22 and it ran 70 GPS all day long with 385hp. So you should be a little better

You need to install hydraulic steering while you are putting the engine in.

Good question...the stock iron exhaust either leak water at the flange back up in the engine or sincel the stock exhaust dumps water into the exhaust so close to the top of the riser at idel the exhaust will revert water back up in the engine.
How do I know????....been there!

A 502 in a 22 Scarab should run great! I'd guess around 75.

You sure you have a 26P Mirage now? They only come in odd numbers and a 26 and 60mph is a TON of slip.
