trailer needs new brake system
#1
I have a South Florida trailer for my 28 Pantera. Believe it or not, it doesn't have brakes on it. The trailer is triple axle and rated for 10.5k lbs. I was looking at http://shop.easternmarine.com/
and am plannig on getting the TITAN/DICO #5237003 (it's a 10k actuator) and 4 of the Tie Down 5256153 disc brake assemblies (and putting them on the front two axles). It seems like most of the triple axle trailers I've seen only have brakes on two of the three. It looks like I can buy all of the parts (actuator, assemblies and a tubing kit) for about $900 shipped. Anybody have other suggestions?

I'd go with Kodiak disk brakes over Tie-Down and electric over hydraulic is the way to go.

Ditto on the Kodiak brakes, I have had a set of the all stainless (I boat in salt water) and have loved them for the 2+ yrs I have owned them. Brakes pads are standard cheap as dirt , front wheel drive GM pads you can buy anywhere...nice touch.

That is a great kit. I have never seen it packaged like that. HOWEVER, you want SS Calipers and Nickel Cadmium Rotors (or SS Rotors if you want to drop the coin).
I don't believe that eBay kit is made up of those materials. Kodiak offers them several different ways. Even in fresh water, you want the above combination I mentioned.

I have the Kodiak disc on my Eagle. The pads have rubbed groves into the hubs. I've been informed to grind the pad backing plate to clear.
