Ran my new 89 F35-7 for the first time today. If I want to go forward, I have to shift lever toward the back of the boat and shift towards the front for reverse. I run TRS with transmissin by the way. I heard if the transmission rubs reverse at high speed such like going forward, I could burn up the transmissin... What do I do? Boat ran well but do I switch props ? How can I tell if they are running in the right direction?

Make sure transmission lever going forward towards engine.
If the rotation of the trans is correct the L H drive should turn in the same direction as the engine. You will burn up the clutch
packs running in reverse.
