The engines in my Chris Cat are very forward, leaving it nearly impossible to time. Is there any location that I can mark and time from the rear of the engine?

I painted my mark with white paint to make it easier to see.

You can transfer the mark, just get it at TDC once, and transfer mark a spot that you can see.

I can't think this would be very precise though.

paint your timing tab and the timing mark on the balancer, then get a mechanics mirror on a stick to see the marks while timing it. once you set it you shouldnt have to do it again til you rebuild the motor. with electronic ign it souldn't need re adjustment. if you dyno your mills it will come off the dyno set correctly. good luck, rm
