Default were to buy 3/8" stainless steel studs

I need to replace the studs on the risers of my Gill exhaust and can"t find any place the would have them. I tried ARPs web site no luck there. I know call Gill Marine. But I want then a little longer the ones on their now do not let any threads protrude past the nut. I need some that are 2" long. Any one know who might have what I am looking for.

Buy a bolt with the needed length of threads, cut to lenght.

Your local hardware store like Ace might have SS threaded rod.

Threaded rod will give you coarse threads on both sides. If you want a stud with fine threads on one end and coarse on the other, pick up the phone and CALL ARP. The phone number is on their website. They are very pleasant and helpfull.
I called them told them what I needed and it was much easier than hunting around a catalog.
I myself, prefer to find the stuff on line or in a catalog myself so I know I'll get what I want, but for this, it's easiest to pick up the phone. I don't think they publish a list of every size bolt and stud they offer, but the customer service people can pull it up on their database.

An alternative is to buy SS bolts the length you need or alittle longer. Then take them to the local machine shop and have them cut the fine threads on the other end..

I do have some studs in stock..that are 2.5" long with 1" of course thread on one end and .75" of fine thread on the other.. would these work for you??

Ace sucks, they dont even carry any 7/16 stainless bolts at all. The true value store across the street did, but got pushed out by Ace a year after Ace came into town. Ace isn't about having knowledgable people , and stuff that gear heads need. They are all about the Benjamin's( $$$ ) that's it. Ace should take the "Hardware" sign off their buildings... BBB
I hope some Corporate executive from Ace reads this !
