yesterday running about 4000 rpm one of the engines just shut off,it did start back up, and about 5 minutes later shut off again,these engines are 454 efi magnum mpi,i know it was hot yesterday in florida,but could it be a vapor lock?

I thought vapor lock could only happen if you shut the motor off and then tried to restart it shortly after. I don't think it could happen while the fuel was being sucked thru the motor.

We had the same thing happen to us in a race in St Clair, and a kill switch had a short.

it could be one of many thing, we need to narrow it down..... first lets see if it starts and runs today then we can go from there.....what yr boat, mtrs

the boat is a 1997 31 sonic with 97 7.4 efi magnum engines (mpi)
