Default eTrex gets job done on aprox 1,300 Caicos to NC.

My little ole yellow Garmin eTrex did the job from Providenciales, Caicos to Wilmington, NC on 26' Angler Panga with 175 OMC. All runs off shore except 200 mi in ditch from St. Simons to Charleston. Last leg was 150 mi in 5 hrs from Charleston arriving Masonboro inlet at 1:05 after midnight. A couple of other legs were also done at night.

I wasn't aboard but expect to use the eTrex on somewhat less adventurous off shore routes. Lotta capability in the eTrex for a one measly Franklin.

Yep, my eTrex saved my butt in a storm when the fancy chart plotter failed. eTrex also got me unlost in Lake Powell.

Gene in NC, love those Panglers! I've spent a lot of time in a diesel 26' Angler Panga out of Galveston Bay. I think you know my friend Arlon, who runs the panga site,

Post some details of your trip, sounds like an adventure! (Post here and on Arlon's site, he really wants to see it.)

It's unusual to see an OMC on an Angler Panga...

PS: I won't get on the water without my yellow etrex, as a backup. It's saved me a few times...
