Any ideas on removing a stuck oil filter in the bilge. I have access on the side for about 30 deg and from the bottom about 45 deg. Can pretty much only get 1 hand in there from both places.
It is crushed to the inner filter now. I need some kind of tool to wrap around and let me get a socket wrench on it.
Any ideas?

The screwdriver may work if you can get to it. Large Screwdriver, Hammer.. Drive screwdriver through whats left of the filter and twist in the correct direction. Looking from the bottom counter clockwise. Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions. Had to donate a couple more ounces of blood to the boat fund but the screwdriver worked. Could not drive it in but was able to drill holes and turn it 1/16 turn at a time. Got it off yesterday.

I don't understand why it's so damn hard to get an oil filter off, but i've had the same problem. I only put it on hand-tight, and it's still a royal pain to get off. I've had to use the screwdriver trick myself, but luckily mine is a lot more accessible.
