Default transom cut out question

I purchased a boat that had a number 5 drive on it. We want to run a bravo xr with an extension box. Can anyone tell me if we will need to fill the transom and recut it or if the extension box will cover the #5 cut out. We would like to run an IMCO box.
thanks
Scott

Default Re: transom cut out question

Stelling used to make a TRS to Bravo adapter/extension box, but apparently it buried the drives deeper into the water.

Rather than trying to place your Extension box so that it covers the hole and giving you who knows what for an X dimension, I would fill and start from scratch. That way you can set your X up wherever you want it. Don’t forget those IMCO boxes actually set your props deeper in the water so you’ll want to plan accordingly when setting your X (higher).

Good luck
Dan
