Anyone can identifiy the n.13 bow that appear in the start of Benihana race on May 12 1979?

The year before,1978, there was a 40 foot Cigarette entered by Terry Baugher of Iselin NJ he had the number 13.

To me, your photo of number 13 does not look like a Cigarette nose. I am just to his left, in Top Banana, but I can't remember who was in that boat or what that boat was....I'll look back in some of my old photos and see what I can find for you.

By the way, this race was the 1979 Bacardi Race to Bimini...this photo was taken as we ran out of Government Cut in Miami.

I looked through all the old photos of that race and can't find that boat anywhere.

Here is a shot from my hotel room on the morning of the race. All the boats that can be seen here and nothing of # 13.

Betty's 2 boats are at the top of the shot, my boat is closest to the pier with the hatches open. Billy Martin, Copper Kettel outside of him, the 2 deep V Benihana boats, Flap Jack, Berk's Law in front of me. Gone Banana's, the 34 foot Modified boat, Wild Turkey, Spectra next to me.The 2 Beep Beep boats on the outside, the Michelob boat....sorry no 13.

That 13 it's a Open class boat.
It seem that in 1979 Paul Clauser drove the former Bertram 38 Copper Kettle re-named Satisfaction but the Copper it's in the shots.
The bow seems something about MSV(like La Tortuga) boats in the deck,and the skids(I don't know how you call the longitudinal redan on the hull)....

Menard didn't race until the following year, 1980.

There is a white boat near Martin in the photo that looks like a Sutphen, but they didn't have any open class Sutphens back then.....I don't know who that is either.

There is a boat on top right with the bow toward an Hatteras.
It have the deck with two stripes. The side seem white but it's not clear...
By the way Meynard raced in 1979 the CTC in august and Porto Cervo in september 1979 with the Bounty Hunter rounded deck 39'.

Let me clarify....Menard didn't race until the following year, 1980....in the USA.

Marco that other boat you asked about, was the pace boat....it had a full glass windshield and hatches in the deck etc.

Also, someone said that Clauser was in the Copper Kettle, it was Arnold Glass.

Clauser was in the 35 Cigarette closest to the beach in the start photo # 56.

Clauser was at Gillmore's wake yesterday. So was John Connor, Sam James, Willie Meyers, Errol Lanier, and others.
