Default 2" shortie on a 04' 29 fountain?

wondering if any one has tried this and if there was any successful speed gains and also if so what prop, Boat has 525 Thanks

Boat should haul ass the way it is ....Fountain sets their boats up on the edge to begin with .............you should have a notched transom and the drive height is most likely vvery aggressive to begin with. What RPM and speed are you runiing now?
I have some shorty experience but my drive was way deep ( 7.5 ) below the keel, on a twin step Donzi. My 2 inch shorty worked well

5300rpm speeds usually around 77-78. Very rarely 80.

This isn't a 29 Fountain but my cousin has an 05 42' Fountain with 2" shorties and picked up about 6 mph. Runs like hell once it's on top of the water BUT it planes off like a race boat.
Running 5 blades and it's still murder. Run the throttles up to 4000 and sit ther , bow in the air engines revving and water flying all over in the back of the boat. A quarter mile later it begins to plane
