Ok all you ford guys, just picked up a new f350 crew cab 4x4 deisel, I have been a chevy guy for years, our last truck which is for sale is a 99 suburban we did lift, tires and wheels, exaust, intake, custom hood, bumpers and lights and maney other things.
now its time to do up the dually.

truck will be used for towing a topgun and winter driving up north

looking for suggestions
all opinions welcome

To unleash some of that power, I would start off with a new intake, exhaust, and chip...that should be a good start. It oughta help pulling the TG a bit.

I agree with sono***un. I have a 2005 Ford Dually Tow Boss and that's what I did to mine. I used the edge juice with the attitude controller. I also installed the Banks dual exhaust system and an AFE air intake. I've used K&N and AFE and for what ever reason the AFE seems to wake the truck up a little more. One thing that I would strongly advise changing no matter what is the inter cooler. Mine blew and so did a couple of friends. Luckily I was close to home. I couldn't make any boost and couldn't get the truck to go faster than 37mph. If I were towing my Top Gun I wouldn't have made it home. For that I again went to Banks.

I have the same truck, you should have no trouble towing that rig with the stock set up. I have towed a lot heavier rigs with no trouble. When you start with the mods you may lose the warranty. Not worth it in the long run.

Bought a new 07 Lariat 2 weeks ago.....I plan on driving it as is for a little while. Had a 99 Burb, then a 03 3/4 ton Burb that is still the wife's daily driver. The f 350 will tow on weekends and sit pretty on weekdays now!!!

I picked up a new 07 Dually diesel last week. Dont tow the gun with the truck chipped. I can almost garrentee you will blow the head gasket. To much boost !! I would leave it stock as far as the engine setup is concerned

the new 6.0's are awesome...was driving an 04 f-250 Harley Edition the other day with 50k on it and cruisin at 75 get like 17 mpg

Bern, the 7.3 were awesome. I just hope the 6.0's are half as good as the 7.3. Every Diesel mechanic has told me to stay away from the 6.0 and that I wont be happy. Time will tell. I wanted a new truck and didnt want to switch brands, so I bought a 6.0

they had some fuel rail issues with the 6.0's in the 1st run late 03 early 04...havent heard of any issues on the later ones. i wish my 7.3 (built 7/98) was 6 months older or better yet an early 03...shes got the small turbo but with the Edge Evolution, 4inch exhaust from turbo back, intake, and kicked up tranny she shocks the hell outta plenty...will run a lil quicker then a stock 6.0...good luck with your new rig...hang on to those wheels will ya
