Then...takes 45-55 sec to go to my Xtreme street tune, which is my daily driver, this tune in the 07 dually will turn 14.3's. Very user friendly, shifts like stock during normal operation, and has a slight feel of a shift kit (without being aggressive) when 1/2 way down or better. Towing 8-10k in this tune if watching egt's. Remember you dont really want to go over 1350 degrees for more than 20-30 seconds. When hot rodding in this tune you will hit high 1400 degree's, but thats only for a second before it shifts. Then...my xtreme race tune has only the 3-5th gears locked, you can option for all locked but is really then set up for the track. You will hit 13.9's with a perfect launch in a dually. I do this usually 1 to 2 times to get them dialed in at the track, and then dont return until the next years model truck comes. I dont beat on them, drive relatively normal, just need the extra power and torque to tow my equipment.

I drive 25k per year, and ususaly sell to my employees, my 03 whch is still in service has over 125k. Had Edge, but I switched it out. ( I had 6 trucks previosly with edge and went through 6 Trannys.) They have not gone through a tranny, but have had some engine work done, faulty of EARLY 6.0's. The person who has my 05, has around 60k, no problems, and he beats the crap out of it. Hope this helps. Good Luck...Cant wait till my F450 comes. Jeff

Thanks Jeff

Unhappy Re: new ford dually

I have an 05 F250 Harley Davidson edition with the 6.0 Turbo Diesel.
I added the Banks 4" Monster exhaust system and Tuner.
The guy that did the work said GM and Dodge benefit from a better intake system but Fords work just fine.
This summer I was pulled over by our Provincial Police and was invited to the weigh scales. I was surprised at how heavy I was.get this.
Truck FL 1000kg FR 100kg
RL 1100 kg RR 1000 kg for a total of
4300 kg(9480 lbs)
Trailer FL 1360 FR 1400 kg
CL 1400 CR 1365 kg
RL 1460 RR 1300 kg for a total of
8285 kg(18265lbs)
Grand total of 12,585 kg ( 27,745 lbs ).
Cost me almost 1500 in fines because of licenceing.

I have an '05 Dually and like a lot.. A few issues in the beginning and then at 33000 km needed Head Gaskets and a tranny overhaul. I have had a program in for a bit and a Banks exhaust. I will leave the program out for now for a while but will leave the exhaust. Truck runs great and goes like mad when the program is installed. I only tow with the program out ( back to factory) due to too much boost.

BR Powersource helped me out for my stuff here in Oakville, Ont, CANADA.

Anyways, I got the truck knowing of the possible issues I would have. All in all, it has been a good truck. I have also been a Chevy fan for years, just like the fact that Ford looks like a truck not a car. My .02 cents

Thanx

Chris

Guys, for the Fords, the best power adder is a Custom Tuned SCT by one of the custom Tuners. I use www.innovativediesel.com Eric/Ted. The Ford has a learning tranny, which means the other adders use diff. tech. to make your tranny shift. In higher hp application you will notice slipping in all of them except this SCT. It gives you the most power and most important it shifts into the next gear with out defueling or hesitation which gives the appearance of not slipping. You will notice problems of tranny failure around 15-20k miles.

On the Gm models I found PPE to be the best, almost same scenario, they are in the back of your Powerboat mag, I only have one on an 06, and it's extremely quick and shifts. Good luck guys. Jeff

I don't know how you guys have any luck with a 6.0. we own 3 of them, and all have been in the shop over 12 times a piece. We also own a 02 duramax, and that is the only one that hasn't been in the shop yet. We had some 7.3 and they ran pretty good and dependable. It gets pretty bad when about 15 ford dealerships across the U.S no you by name. We are trading all the 6.0 and going to chevy.

I have had 6 since 03. Still have the 06 F250 and the 07 F350 dually. Overall been satisfied, and was a die hard GM guy since 1990. They all have their + & -'s, for towing heavier loads I have found the Ford better suited, for driving around and not towing over 11k the Gm's are better. Good luck with your GM's. Jeff
