I'm sure by now all of you have gotten the email from John about the date for this year's poker run. He has it marked for July 7th. This is two weeks earlier than when it is usually done. I was just wondering how many of you that was going to be a problem for since it is the weekend right after the 4th.

I haven't received any emails re the TRR. Thanks for the heads up. I had a big time this year (as did most of the MCPA crew), and would like to do it again.
July 7th could be problematic, because a lot boaters take that week off and go on out of town vacations. I think a weekend off between the 4th and the TRR would be better for us, and will result in better attendance for you guys. What do you think? I will still try to make it if possible.
Regards,
Steve

The last I heard, John was looking at the 14th, but...the 7th works for me. Had a great time last year, and plan on being there again in '07, whatever the date. Ken

The web site for the run has July 21, 2007 as the date, so John must have gotten the feedback he was looking for and kept the date toward the end of July.

It's set for July 7. Here's the latest email I received from John. We're planning to participate in the Friday night rides this year as well as the poker run. Come on along, it's a great run on a beautiful lake!
John's also working on a second run later in the year on Watts Bar Lake as well.
From John -
It's time for the planning of next years run. We have set a date of July 7th with the help of the marina.
Picking a date is the hardest thing to do. We hope you all can attend.
We are looking for boats to commit helping with the rides Friday night if you come in early. We are also considering starting the event at little earlier this year to possibly have lunch downtown.
As always, we need additional sponsors, if you travel to other runs and know of a company that would like to help please contact me.
I'm attending our first meeting today for a Watts Bar Poker Run for this summer also. Details to follow. Also, don't forget to follow the Music City Powerboat website for details on their event next year.
I hope you all have a wonderful Hoiliday Season.
