Default TBI vs. EFI ?

Being a mechanical novice........can someone educate me on Throttle Body Injection........I am still considering a boat with 575sci's and have never dealt with this type of fuel injection system.......................

Throttle body injection injects fuel at the throttle body,
atop the throttle plates, whereas port injection injects fuel
generally near the intake port of the cylinder head at each
cylinder.

I have 575SCi's and have no complaints.

EFI is much more user friendly. TBI is an earlier technology and is subject to adjustments when conditions (altitude, temperature, fuel octane) change. EFI has sensors and computerized minitoring that removes all of the concern around those variables. IN addition I'd rather inject at or near the individual cylinder than into a common throttle body before the manifold.

TBI is EFI, just injects the fuel in a different place. The 575 uses "wet" supercharging where as the fuel and air mix before the blower thusly lowering the charge temperature of the pressurized air due to the cooling effec of atomizing the fuel. Port fuel injection does not mix the fuel with the air until just before and during the opening of the intake valve and does so in the intake port or just before it.
