Default truck tonneau cover - Hard top reccomendations?

Any prefrence on which fiberglass models hold up and still look good?

Also do they improve gas MPG much? Thinking of going with one on my new truck, 8' bed.

Leer, ARE, and Snug are pretty much the top three. Find a local dealer that has a good name in the area and buy one of those three...you'll be fine.

I am a Leer dealer and have had good luck in my four years with the company. They do what I ask. As a dealer I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either of the other two names either. They are good products.

They all have different styling characteristics that different consumers either like or dislike.

Don't forget to go to the manufacturer's website and check for online coupon's. There is usually something availabe that would save you a small amount of money on your purchase.

Good luck...

Buck

I have a Jason on my 03 dually havent had a leak problem it comes with its own frame system to latch down to wount rub the paint off the top of your bed sides like the ones that lock down over. here is a pic you can see the frame set up. Had the cover for 4 years now and no color fade perfect paint match as well latches work great. I have not had to take it back or order parts for it and it gets used quite a bit.

I had one on my last dually. I hated it. The cover makes it very hard to get to items in the front of the bed. My current truck has a Fold a Cover. It is segmented into 4 sections. The front and back sections lock and fold independant of each other or you can fold up the back three on top of the front section to haul something tall in the bed. It does not leak. The down side is it is black only. It is aluminum.

I tried a canvas type and hated it . Never felt secure to me .
Then a Hawk Fiberglass POS . Thing rattled and leaked but it was cheap . Now have a Leer on my 07 F250 and love it .
Up here the weather really sucks . I've taken it through the car wash and no leaks ,rattles . And it has a new easy to open lock . One hand to open or close .

Ive had them on all my trucks, I added a spoiler on this one to make me go faster No seriously I can lock anything in there and I know it will be dry and secure. It is a PITA to get to he front of the 8' box but its not real often. They also make something that fits on the floor that you put items on and can slide in and out to make access to items way in the front easier.

I had a Pace Edwards electric roll up cover on my last truck and I loved it. They have a few different models, but the one that I had was called the Bed Locker. It is made from aluminum, it sits flush with the bed, it's secure, it's waterproof and when you need to get to stuff in the front of the bed or when you don't want the cover you simply push a button and it rolls up and out of the way.
