I’m trying to get some feedback on this boat. I’m looking for a nice lake boat and would like to get your opinion on the boat what power you would go with. I’m looking for a very reliable setup that will run in the mid 80’s. The boat will spend the majority on inland lake (No rough Water). I want to be able to take my kids out and have a good ride at lower speeds and also local poker runs. So far I have seen several with Merc and Viper 525’s and one with twin 250 XS outboards. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Id say go with my 2005 27 daytona and the 525. I have the fam with 2 kids. It worked for us as a fun fast boat and a take the kids swimming boat. The 525 to me would be reliable and servicable. Keep in mind my 27 daytona with a single can be pulled by a tahoe, or 1/2 ton truck easily when a 28 with twins is allot of extra weight. also oB's arnt very cool when getting in and out of the water with kids, and are they loud?

Good ride at slow speeds is relative. The cats you are considering don't ride "nice" -for a cat till they start packing some air- usually 50 or so.- but they ride so nice and feel so good it's not an issue- unless the family is not happy at those speeds for some other reasons. That said- they are efficient at getting from A to B at those speeds.
If you're thinking about pulling tubes or something you need to look eleswhere- like a well balanced v-hull. For a few yrs we had the 25 Daytona for getting around and a Tige inboard for the watersports
