Default HELP! ? on Gaffrig GPS Speedometer

last year I stored my Formula in a warehouse and the boat sat for those 4 months as winter passed when I took her for her first run of the season the GPS was not reading probably because I removed the batteries from the boat.( when i put it in storage all was working properly) the red light comes on to indicate poer when I start it ,it just won't work.the Speedometer is only 2 years old this year

is there a small battery in the GPS that could loose its charge and is it replacable or do I need to send back to factory ??

does the GPS go through its self test when you start it? It should hit all the 90*'s around the face of the speedo....like straight down is 0* then it will go 90* up tot he left then another 90* up and face straight up.etc....then back to 0...

ck your wiring harness. Mine looked like it was plugged in but the tiny wires were just barely pulled out (broke). Got a new harness Livorsi 13. and spliced in.

Mine does the test but after the test it rests at "0" for about 3-5 seconds then it goes up to 15 mph and stays there. I also noticed it makes a buzzing sound. whats up with that????

Call them and ask, for 13 buks, get a new harness and splice her in, works great after I did that. I never had no buzz noise though, that is weird.

For all I know it can be wired wrong. I bought the boat with it already installed but it didn't come with any instructions, manual or wiring diagram. If anyone has a link to one I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Happened to mine last year, same symptoms. Tested itself at 3 positions, then stuck at the 9 o'clock. Called then sent it in to Livorsi and they replaced the puck which tested bad. Forget exactly how much it cost but it wasn't much and it got done and returned quick.

mine is doing the same thing except it goes to 55mph and stays. I'm assuming that is some sort of code. Worked fine when i put up for winter. Any ideas?

check the little wires at the back of the speedo head unit from the antenna. The wires break INSIDE the plastic insulation. Give each one a gentle pull at a 90* angle to the terminal and watch closely for the wire covering to stretch. Seen several do this. Replace the terminals and make sure you support the wiring so it doesn't break again.
