Taking my controls to be powder coated, how do you remove the red plastic buttons on the throttles? I don't think they'd take the heat from baking.

Carefully.....the plastic buttons snap together thru the handle. Start by going around the edge abd prying a little with an xacto knife.

If you screw them up, replacements are available thru Merc parts sources like BAM, Doller or Lakeside.
