External Speaker on VHF radio

I have a Standard Verizon Eclipse plus and bought a regular external CB speaker but the plug in does'nt fit. Do they take a different plug in or do I have a defective radio? Thanks

Is the diameter wrong? You might have to cut the wire, and solder a new plug on it.

or try Radio Shack. I bought a pkg of 4 universal plug tips and 1 of them works great in my VHF handheld for cig lighter.

Thought about taking radio out and taking it to Radio Shack, but if they have an variety pack of 4 will do that, thanks for the info.
