Default To Boat or not to Boat that is the ?

Well I sat out the season last year with the birth of my son,it just made sence....with gas prices, new baby, one income, and my wife healing up from her C-section. Now its spring the gas prices are not getting any better, the wife is still not back to work....dont know if she will for a while. Is it time to get out? I dont have a boat payment but it costs me $100 bucks a month to store it...then insurance driving a 3/4 ton truck I really dont need...maybe its time to down size....what do you guys think? I got into boating around 1990 when gas was $1.30 and a guy that works for a living could afford to own a nice boat and still use it....I think those days are gone

You should buy an electric car and sell anything you own that has a infernal compustuion engine in it. Oh ya join the Democratic party, move in next to Al Gore and hold on to your photo albums of days past

That's why I stay with one motor. I can't imagine paying gas for two.

Best part about the sonics is there use of space and amenities.

So Are ya going to be happy stepping down especially with a kid running around.

Somtimes it's just nice to be out there even if your just floatin.
Don't always need to be burning the fuel, maybe just pulling up the the beach of the cove. But it's a nice escape from the rest of the world.

If your payment free, I would have a hard time selling that rig just to save 50 bucks. Personally I would look for a better place to store it. I store mine for half of what you paying and I cover just a tad more square footage.

Maybe ya have to drive a few more miles to pick it up but it would still be cheaper than the exta 600 your paying over my bill.

so, you've got a one yr old... will the wife join you go go out w/ the baby, will you be taking the tot out at all?

Boating is all about you... make sure YOU are happy w/ what you are running. I think downsizing is a good idea.
Just figure out the spread between what you've got and the other ride... and it better be a credit spread. No need to spend more for a single. The difference if the fuel shouldn't be the deciding factor... how much can that be? $1000/yr?
