Default Bottom Paint

Have a customer that wants new bottom paint done on his Sea Ray, is there much to putting it on? Whats a good brand to go with? Thanks, Steve.

Steve, Call Pauly he has his guys paint alot of bottoms.

Hello everyone.Any ideas for bottom paint on a 34 scarab thats stay in the water all summer.(freshwater)

what i found to work good and look good as well as in colors of your choice is the truck bed spray liner, you can have a company do it or you can do it yourself, most paint supply stores have it as well as the spray gun to apply and it doesnt cost near as much even buying the gun.. as well as protecting crap from growing on it, it also works great for beaching the boat damage free

How smooth is the texture of the finish??

de wax the hull sand with 80 grit wash and acetone entire bottom. Epoxy Barrier coat with interlux interprotect 2000 and a then an ablative bottom paint such as micron csc or 66

Many believe that the boat looses a tremendous amount of it's value once you put paint on the bottom.So make sure your client really wants it. Simple way around that ... make sure the person you sell it to later boats the same way as you

Don't skip the barriercoat for sure. Awlgrip antifouling is pretty damn good stuff too. And Pettit now has a line of bright colours under the 'Vivid' label.
