Which exhaust flows best?

Which exhaust flows best?

I have a '96 Eliminator 207 with a stock Mercruiser 454 using the "Y" to direct the exhaust through the Bravo 1 outdrive. This seems very restrictive. Does a "thru-Hull", dual exhaust improve performance?
