Default thru hull tips w/flapers

daytona with twin blown bbc the the exaust tip flappers are missing the boat came with drew marine shotguns I bought the dana internal flapers they fit great. do I need the flappers still with the shotguns if not needed will they cause any problem with both in

how far above water is your exaust, if it is above your transom assy. you don't need flappers, unless you are taking waves that high on the back of your boat.

about 8" above transome ass. waves aremy only concern

I'd keep them if you can, good insurance if a big cruiser or bad weather sneds a big wave over the back.

Dittos. Plus when you slow down sometimes water can wash up against the transom/pipes. I have the salisbury (spelling ??) flaps to play it safe. But I still "feather" the throttle when I slow down or come to a stop..... again to be safe.

so keep the flaps with the drew marine shotguns is what I am hearing better safe than sorry thanks guys
