I am pulling my B1 outdrive but i don't know how to disconnect the shift cable from the oudrive. Do you jus pull the outdrive a little harder for it to disconnect or is there some otherway of doing this?

The shift cable goes into a clip in the outdrive, sorta like a set of jaws. It pulls out of the drive and opens up. then the cable can be lifted out of the clip. Don't just pull it will danage the cable. If you can get your hands on a mercruiser manual it has pretty detailed pics of the process.

If you put it in gear it will push the cable into the drive and it is easer to pull the drive that way. The clam shell clamp will open up with the slack you provided in your cable as the drive pulls back from the transom assy.
