whoa, i think it's getting deep in here. Here is what a guy just said to me--

"If youre looking into a speedboat that you can still overnight on, i'd look into a Stingray 230SX. Its a 72mph boat from the factory and you can pick one up used for about $20K. 502ci, radar tested. Stingray have a patented hull that just kicks all other competitor's asses.

Im really doubting it's a 502ci boat that does 72mph, or am I wrong? What does stingray have over Fountain?

Its a small 23' flat(-ish) bottom lake boat. That ad/review is from 1997, 10 years ago, when the 502Mag/415HP was around.

I looked at them years and years ago. Its a very small boat; and I would not want to try to overnight on it unless passing out drunk at a bar after a HEAVY night of drinking.

I know a guy with one that has a 454 mag and he has nitrous on it. It is super light and if you hit as much as a jet ski wake you will be seeing the sky for about 5 seconds.

Scary and unsafe is how I would describe my experience on one.

I have been in a few Stingrays, for the money they are a very fast boat. Overnight on, well we all have different levels of comfort I used to sleep in a inboard ski boat with teh cover pulled over me.

I had a 230sx with a 350mag. It ran 60-62 and handled the water pretty good. I was far from easy on it!

Stingray is a completly different boat company than sea ray. Sea Ray doesn't even make a boat that is capable of 70mph or I would probobly buy it. They used to offer the pachanga, but not since early 1990

Texoma
There is a guy up here that has a stock Searay that can literally do circles around most power boats.
It is like 65 - 70 ft long and hauls butt.
OH did I mention that it has TURBINES
