What size?

What size socket fits the star looking bolts on a B1 outdrive? I tried an 8 pt 3/8 but hat is not the size. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Just for your info i do have a set of 8 point sockets. My dad has been racing cars for over 30 years and has a bunch of odd tools that they do not make anymore.

The 8 point sockets are always part of the Craftsman sets that I have bought and I can't remember ever having used one. I know that it's some kind of a square drive, but I've never needed one.
