problem is not everyone takes care of their toys the same.....what one guy considers normal use may be beating the snot out of it to another....so Mfg's can only cover so much during a set period of time.....exceptions of course will be made for every instance but its gonna be on a case by case basis. I guess it would all boil down to what the problem is your having with said product...

It is all going to depend on what you are getting. My gel coat guy is the best around and warranties against cracks for 1 year.
Engine warranties are going to vary depending on HP and the builder.
As long as the warranty is spelled out when you sign a contract, then thats how long they should stand behind it.

I know that many do. It depends on what is spelled out in the original hull warranty. A friend of mine had an Eliminator that they repaired gel stress cracks on several times. The cracks were on the bottom and coming from the chines and some cracks in the cockpit. It was a 3-4 year old VERY low hour boat. When the cracks came back after like the 3rd repair and 20 hours, his dealer went to bat for him and Eliminator stood up and a replaced the entire hull and deck.

The guy that buys the boat new typically gets the best warranty service especially on things like stress cracks which builders have never really cared about.
I actually got good waranty service on a previous boat with Merc. However, they did reach a point where they said "we won't pay for anything else." "We're helping a second owner." They went on to say that they most likely would not have covered anything but the fact that I went to a "Platinum Dealer" helped a little. Some will call BS.
