1) How Fast = 75 MPH

2) How To Go Faster = Buy bigger engines.

Personally I would go with 525's or bigger. I know folks that have not had good results adding HP to the 496HO's.

Good luck

HaHa I asked this a few weeks back. I own the same.
Best so far is 75 on Gps with labbed 28's. I have another set of speed labbed 28's that are supposed to be good for 76-77. I did not install them yet. Plan to in the next few months. Really trying to get a good read on current setup speed, drive setting and tabs.
My goal is a true 80. Say 82
I think its going to take some raylar or some whippy's which are not long term for the 496 series engines. I will be trying somthing though. I need 80 mph. It just seems like the magic number for me.
Please keep us posted if you find some magic in a particular setup.

35gs you can get some nice 540 to 572 na motors built and get a nice 600 to 700hp which will last just as long as the 525s. but for 10gs you could add raylar. 525s are over priced the exhaust s seem to be going south on them a lot. I have been running a 502 and now a 509 set up between 585hp and 670hp with no major problems in the last 12yrs or so in the ocean hard. stainless marine exhaust for 13 yrs, cmi seem to fall apart after 2 or 3 yrs stellings seem to hold up well. go natural.
