i'm looking for someone that knows well 496ho engine eventually with CMI exhaust....because i would like to put two of them on by powerboat!!!

Is a good engine,with a good sound?or is better the old 502's or 454's(420hp)???????????

If you intend to always leave them stock,except for the exhaust system the 496 is a decent motor. If you might want to add performance upgrades for more power in the future, go with the 502s. Personally, I think they ran better than the 496s anyway. Better midrange punch in my opinion.

the 496's have more sensor/computer stuff vs the 502's all of which can go wrong. 496 is pretty reliable as is the 502's.

The 496's have the closed cooling which IMO is a huge advantage. 496's have a slightly louder bite on the exhaust vs the 502.
