Took the boat out for a ride today and the tachometer starting acting up. Does anyone have one of these? It's 3 & 3/4"

Almost every time you have malfunctioning/acting up lights or instruments, its often caused by poor contacts.

Go to radio shack buy:
DESC: DeoxIT contact cleaner is a fast-acting deoxidizing solution that cleans, preserves, lubricates, and improves conductivity on all metal connectors and contacts. Use as a general treatment for connectors, contacts, and other metal surfaces, and on non-critical metal surfaces with severe oxidation and corrosion. If the metal surface is discolored, it is severe. DeoxIT dissolves the contamination and protects the surface.
And have junior climb under the dash and clean/spray the connections. Should solve the problem.

Make sure all of your grounds are tight. A bad ground will do all sorts of things also.

If it does wind up being a bad guage then maybe some one like Lavorsi could rebuild it for you. Just toss in a temp guage for when you have it out for repair.
