Have you got to run your boat any latley ??

I know last time you told me the boat ran 68 I believe in flat water & that you were hoping for 70 in some better water...

Have you seen anymore speed ? Do you know what RPM's you are turning ? What prop are you running ?

havent run it winterized now. need to send the risers back to stainless marine to lengthen, small reversion problem. running 5000 rpms 24 pitch bravo1 going to lab it this winter and build a xr lower would like to see a little more after the upgrades. carb is still on the rich side, ran out of tweaking time.

Yeah you snowbirds run out of tesing time a bit early up there.... However be thankful that you have to winterize because that usually means that you have a boat that actuallty runs unlike myself.

Not sure what Stainless Marine would get to lengthen your risers , But you may want to check with Brad ( funhome ) here on the board. I know he changed his risers over to dry by cutting his existing Gil risers & adding to them. You may not be looking to go completly dry but it would be pretty much the same process. Send him a PM he's a great guy

My point is that a Good ( keyword being Good ) fabricator that is handy with a TIG & is good with stainless can handle the job.

By the way if your #'s are correct & that 24 pitch spinning at 5,000 is 68 MPH on GPS ( which is I believe what you said earlier ? ) That comes out to 11% propslip wich is really good for a 28 Single.

300 for both risers adding 10 inches, useally would fab myself but price seems resonable with the polishing I really dont care to do.

I had my Tips cut locally and polished.
Cost was around 350 for both.
Could have bought new ones for the same or less from SM.

$300.00 is Way cheaper than I thought they would quote you on that ! Its not really a major ordeal to do but I still thought they would charge more. Not that they should its just that I just thought they would being that the word marine is involved.

You will endup with a more aggressive sound which in my opinion is quite alright..

they told me it was to take care of there customers with problems . otherwise I bet it would be three times as much and I wouldnt evan consider paying to have it done.

I looked into taller and longer sm risers when I purchased these the custom built ones were like 1200.00 a set , so Im happy with the out come, upset with the company that sold them to me. I told them what they were going on and after the fact he told me they need to be longer would have went with imcos, had a good deal on a set. at least sm stands behind there product.

I talked to S.M. a couple weeks ago about getting another matching set of dry tails for some Gil manifolds I have & they quoted me $950.00 a piece meaning $1,900 for 1 engine. I knew that they wouldn't be cheap but I wasn't thinking that much.. I will say that the quality of these tails are impresive to say the least ! They probably don't but they feel like they weigh 20 lbs. a piece
Like I said I think $300.00 is a bargin. Send em out !

I listed my 2 Small blocks in the classifieds yesterday & also gave a description in the same ad of my 511 c.i.d. & supercharger.

Maybe I will sell either the 2 Smalls or the BBC & that will settle my debate , because I am just about ready to start rigging either way... I really can't go wrong either way but I am just having trouble giving up my Good blown BBC for the smalls & losing quite a few MPH in the process.. Either setup is really fine with me. It would be alot easier for me to rig it with the twin Smalls especially since they are completly ready to go & all they need is fuel... So we will just see what happens... Opininons are always welcome but it doesn't meen that I will listen.. I have never really been the type who is driven by popularity... haha...

Here is a pic. of the main reason the boat isn't rigged yet... I took this about 2 hrs. ago , It is a buddy/customers 1969 Z28 that has been 1 year of my spare time , besides regular day to day customer work. I will start shooting the orange basecoat Sun. evening & then start laying out the stripes Mon. morning with hopes of Spraying the Final clearcoat on it that same evening.. I have 2 paint booths Full of parts & two long & hard days ahead of me & then the tedious job of water sanding & buffing before a week or so of Final assembly... So Hopefully I will finish this project up in the next 2-3 weeks !

Anybody out there looking for some , or a good motor let me know because I have 3 & only need 1 or 2...
