525EFI closed cooling, what antifreeze to top off?
#1
Is the anitfreeze in the closed cooling 525EFI a special kind? I ask because with Mercury Racing you never know. I want to top off the coolant tanks.

Brad,
I would not be afraid of the DexCool. Most of the time when there is a problem attributed to it, there are other issues present. It does not tolerate low coolant levels very well, especially in automotive systems, but if properly maintained there is nothing wrong with it.
I am ashamed to say I still have the original Dexcool in my 99 Tahoe and it still looks like new after 80k miles and has never lost a drop. It will be changed in the next few weeks, but DexCool is going back in.
