Default Stangs

Any of you guys out there playing with any of the 05+ stangs?? I'm building a 08 GT right now, I'll tell ya, for the money they are hard cars to beat, and parts are so readily available for them. Best bang for the buck by far!

I have on 06 that will be getting some goodies this winter, probably going turbo. I modded out my buddies 05 vert with a Procharger, suspension and body kit. We had them out on KY Speedway a couple of weekends ago for a "drive the track day", what a blast. For every $40 you spend in the gift shop you got 3 laps on the track. We spent $80 and got 6 laps. I couldn't believe they let us run fast! There was a pace truck leading us and he said he had it floored, gov'ed a 100 mph. We would lay back a few hundred yards and race back up to the truck. I was seeing a little over 100 in the turns and 120ish on the straits, what a blast! Anyway, I love the new stangs.

You can go with the tremec 6 speed if you feel the need. I've got 3:73s and its just fine with the 5 speed. A friend here has 4:10s with the 5 speed and I almost wish I would have went that route. Gears, tune, and an intake really wake these cars up, night and day difference. I have a little more planned for mine over the winter also, doing the GT500 wheels and some suspension work. I had an 07 before getting this one we had modded pretty heavy, even did the GT500 bumper covers front and rear and side skirts, but it was an automatic........I had it bought it as a family driver, one the wife and kid could use also, but as usual, they never drove it......so I got what I wanted!

Look into Hellion Power Systems they have some awesome turbo kits out. The owner is a good friend of mine & some of the new stuff he has coming out is unbelievable. The power he is making is pretty awesome.

I have seen there stuff, TOP NOTCH! They are definitively in the running. I'm not looking to make huge power, just a solid daily driver with some extra giddy up. We made around 450 hp at the tires with my buddies Procharged 05. I just don't like how noisy the supercharger is. I have been very impressed with the Whipple on my boat but just feel like turbos make the most sense.

He has smaller street kits also. Just give them a call they are super nice people to talk to. The nicest part about they're kits is they are 100% bolt on, no modifications really needed. If you decide to give them a call try 7 talk to Dwayne or John & tell them Buzz sent you.
