We boat the atlantic ocean alot over here in NJ and we currently have a 28' pantera and hope to some day bump up to a 37/38ft cig or outerlimits. How do both of these boats compare in ride and handling characteristics in 4 to 5's and bigger? The Cig would be a 1998 or less non-step top gun and a single step OL. I really like the fact that the OL takes less to get that beast moving than the cig. How do they compare speed wise power to power?

Damn thats pretty good for only 500's on such a big boat. I believe in the cig you are only goin to ring out something like low 70's i believe. Whats the fuel capacity of this boat and also how much does it weigh? Have you had any problems with the stringer system, cracks in gelcoat, etc? What kinda headroom is in the cabin in the OL? Will def get test rides in either before ever buying.

Do you care about cabin space? Head Room? Bathroom? AC/Heat? OL has that covered! I have been in both and the OL is quicker and faster there for it feels lighter, as far as the ride I would say pretty close but I'm talkin Chesapeake Bay water not offshore, The older the cig the heavier, You Cant go wrong with either! I do have a 37 OL quad step I am thinking about listing for sale with or without power. [email protected]

I currently have both. 92 kevlar top gun, 73 MPH, TRS, 600 hawks. You can't beat the ride in 5's and 6's. everyone else is sitting at the dock. never gonna be the fastest but killer ride. the OL is 97 with 500's & bravos, 85.6 gps. Extremely impressed with speeds, handling, and big wave running with this boat. The OL rides like a straight bottom cig until you get the speed up and make use of the single step in the rear. What ever your decision I'm sure you will be happy. I'm also considering selling my OL, if interested give me a call (716) 628-3912 kevin.

Wow awesome, thanks for the info. I'm definetly into overnighting on the boat and possibly some day addin A/C or something. Def sounds like the outerlimits would be the boat for us. I mean we we will run the pantera real hard, through big seas and it handles its own pretty damn well, so i can imagine another 10ft will def be huge.

No need to add AC/Heat we go it! Also got Corion counter tops, walk in bathroom with a real toilet and a shower head, Ostrich leather upolstery in the cabin, Plenty of cabinets, Etc! Etc! And it runs 115 mph
