from what i understand the drive itself is similiar to the 6 with the exception of having 1 vertical shaft in the lower?

but for the running part i have a bout 30 hrs on a piece with the 700 NXT packages in it and all i can say is wow. not a peep of trouble. and i assure you i was not at all remorseful on them.

Thats what was explained to me also...one vs two vert. shaft.
When they came out, I had my reservations, hense my set up. I feel very differently now that more have been in service, and Nortech stated no failures on 15 plus boats. I ended up going with the #6 lowers, only for track record, I still obviously have the Nxt transom assemblies.

Jassman,

Whats the advantage of running NXT's upper and transom assembly with a #6 lower?

Why not run the entire #6 package then?

Thanks
Jon

BT just built a 46' with 700's, runs 89, handles great, and has no issues!

Double R sells Two new in box 6A drive and transom packages for 61k. Two new in box NXT drive and transom packages for 75k. Money is not an issue when going for the superior 6A

The thread request was for personal experience...NO HEARSAY. JUST THE FACTS. Rumors are just that...and I have heard them as well, but not one from someone that actually owned or serviced an NXT; that is why I initiated this thread, to flush out any REAL problems.

Thumbs up NXT Trans Questions

If you would like to call and discuss I would be more than happy to share info with you. On Fountains we run NXT transom assembly with 6 drive upper and lowers. When you go from Bravo to SSM6 or NXT the new weak link in your boat will be trans and not drive anymore. Both NXT drive and 6are great products.

you cannot run different upper and lowers....i think he means he runs the NXT transom assembly and #6 drives behind that. Just like fountain does.
